Yesteryear is a mis-placed Aussie who re-located with work over 15 years ago from outback Australia. Now well and truly entrenched in South African life with a young lad who loves all kinds of music and a lovely wife who puts up with a vinyl habit I can't quite kick :-)
Growing up in a very small country town in Oz with 7 sisters and a much older brother who wasn't really into music, the record collection was full of Simon & Garfunkel, Neil Diamond and Olivia Newton-John ... oh, and The Beatles of course. We often wonder what it would have been like if we'd had 7 brothers instead - Led Zeppelin, The Doors and Hendrix I suppose?
Anyhow, here we are in the Deep South of Cape Town re-discovering what we missed out on all those years ago, and enjoying the wealth of new music that's out there just waiting to be discovered. And isn't that the fun part of vinyl?
