Refunds, Credits & Returns

We only deal with reputable record labels supplied by globally recognised international distributors. Whilst every care is taken by record manufacturers to ensure the quality of the factory-sealed product supplied, manufacturing defects can occasionally occur from time to time. 

Can I get a refund if my new vinyl record has a factory defect?

Whilst this very rarely happens there are times when manufacturing defects occur that are obviously not visible or audible until the packaging is opened. In the event that you are not satisfied with the physical or audible condition of your purchase, please take note of our returns policy:

Within 7 days of purchase, we will accept returns of any physically or audibly defective item. We can not guarantee that you will like the music you have chosen, or the recording quality of an LP or even the colour of your record (in the case of coloured pressings), so personal taste does not qualify as a reason for return. Please choose carefully.

Please note that manufacturing defects do not include:

  • the colour of the record -  the colour of a pressing may vary from the image supplied in our online store or one you may have seen elsewhere, but this is not a valid reason for return. Likewise the colour of some pressings is random and only known once the record is unpackaged - also not a valid reason for return - sorry!
  • dis-colouration or mis-colouration of coloured vinyl records (this is a manufacturing anomaly, not a defect, that occurs naturally in a very small percentage of coloured pressings). This anomaly can be embedded in the wax but unless it affects audible playback, is not considered a manufacturing fault
  • fingerprints -  please take care when handling your new records - we do not accept returned vinyl with visible fingerprints
  • static build-up -  static is a naturally occurring phenomenon that can impact the playback of any vinyl record, even a brand new one. Please clean your record with approved cleaning equipment and/or an anti-static brush and re-test playback, before contacting us about a return based on audible condition that may be caused by static
  • recording quality -  it's a fact of life that some pressings are audibly better than others, but this is not considered a manufacturing defect and not a valid reason for return
  • damaged covers - we take great care in making sure that we only send out covers that are in mint, factory-sealed condition. We package our records using dedicated vinyl record mailers with your vinyl bubble-wrapped on the inside of the box and again on the outside. We use the very best courier service in SA. Therefore we do not refund or credit damaged covers as we have complete confidence that they have been despatched and delivered in perfect order.

If you are absolutely sure there is a manufacturing defect, please email us within 48 hours with good quality images, advising the extent of the fault.

We will arrange for our courier to collect the defective vinyl from your address at our expense and will exchange, refund or provide a credit, if the reported defect is verifiable at our end.

We stand by the quality of the records we import and supply. We also stand by the personalised service and delivery that has resulted in thousands of records sold to hundreds of satisfied customers who keep coming back. Rock on!

Will I get a refund or credit if the album I ordered and paid for is deleted by the supplier after my order has been processed?

Yes. A refund or credit is offered once the item has been confirmed as no longer available by the supplier.

This is a fairly rare occurrence but titles can be deleted from time to time.

If that happens you will get a refund or credit on another order or purchase.

Can I get a refund if I 'change my mind' after placing my order online?

Sorry, no. We do not offer refunds for customers that change their mind after confirming an order online as we can't cancel our orders with our suppliers. In the event that you no longer want the items ordered, we can offer an exchange for items of same value (or greater) from our IN STOCK range. Alternatively we can issue a Gift Voucher to same value which you can redeem within 3 months.
